Evangelical and Catholic counterparts unite against gays in next election, newspaper says

Information from the newspaper “O Estado de São Paulo” shows that the evangelical and catholic benches intend to unite against gays in this year’s elections. Issues such as abortion, gender ideology, homosexual marriage, among others are on the agenda.

The goal is to elect 200 MPs. Currently, evangelicals have 97 deputies and 3 senators, while Catholics head 48 parliamentarians.

The state of Alagoas is one of the regions that already receives the agreement. The Catholic Congressman Givaldo Carimbão (PHS) will receive support from evangelicals for the Senate.
