Gay couple tells story of adoption on “Teleton”

In “Teleton,” a charity marathon that was broadcast by SBT in recent days, a story involving a gay couple was one of the highlights of this year’s edition.

It is the story of the boy Daniel who was born with hydrocephalus and myelomeningocele, is a patient of AACD and was adopted by Leandro and Diego after 90 couples gave up adopting it. Detail: none of the couples were allowed to meet the child. Dozens of couples gave up after seeing the boy’s medical report with information about Daniel’s health problems.

“The report did not talk about the smile, it did not talk about how smart it was, it did not talk about what it was possible” said the parents of the child. “We wanted to be parents and he calls us both parents and whoever is first meets” they said.
