A survey by the Levada Center showed that 83 percent of Russians denounce homosexuality. The numbers come out in the midst of this year’s Cup that will be hosted by the country.
They interviewed 1,600 people, both from urban and rural areas, and only 8% say they accept.
The data become even more shocking when a 1998 survey shows that 68% of the country’s population condemned homosexuality.
Remember that since 2013 a law prohibits gay propaganda in the region. Nicknamed for non-traditional sexual intercourse, affection, hand in hand, kiss, among others, are highly objectionable.
